This is Hisashi Kitamura!
He won the 60 km category at the Daisetsuzan Trail Journey for two consecutive years: 2023 and 2024.
He did not participate in the 2025 edition of the event, but he has achieved excellent results in numerous races. In 2026, he placed third in the Mt.FUJI100 – KAI 70K. Most recently, he won the Hieizan International Trail Run 50-mile race. He is currently one of the hottest trail runners around.
He is scheduled to compete in the 60 km category at this year’s DTJ 2026. In the 2024 race, he finished in an astonishingly fast time of 6:40:01, crossing the finish line before 11:00 AM! Will he break his own record again this year? Stay tuned!

Hisashi Kitamura
He started trail running while stationed in Malaysia and gained experience in Southeast Asia through the Asia Trail Master series. Since returning in 2023, he has expanded his activities within Japan, leveraging his heat tolerance honed in hot and humid environments. He combines the speed he developed on the road with the tenacity he honed in mountain races. He continues to take on trail races in Japan and abroad. His personal best time for a full marathon is 2 hours, 29 minutes, and 20 seconds. He is currently an active UGLOW-supported athlete.
