90 days to Event! 60 days to registration deadline!

It’s just over mid-April, and Hokkaido is starting to warm up.
Most of the snow has melted in the foothills, but the high mountains visible from Asahikawa are still covered with snow.

It’s hard to believe, but there are only three months left until the event.
We are curious about the condition of the competition course in the Hirayama area. I wonder how it’s coming along? I haven’t seen it with my own eyes yet, but I’m sure it’s still impossible to reach the Hirayama trailhead due to heavy snow.

Early bird registration closed on March 31st. We are pleased to announce that we received more applications during the early registration period than last year!
We also had more participants from outside Hokkaido than last year, and we are very grateful for the interest shown by trail runners from far away. Thank you very much.

We understand that some of you may not be able to register yet because your July schedule has not yet been finalized. Regular registration is currently open, so please consider participating if your schedule allows.

Please note that the deadline for regular registration is Friday, June 20, one month before our event. If you are considering attending, please be aware of this deadline.

Recap of changes to the 2025 tournament / Bus tour to be held!

The course is the same route as in recent years, but there are some changes in the Daisetsuzan Trail Journey from last year. We have already announced this, but we would like to confirm the details again.

Start times changed for 40K and 15K

Last year, the 40K started at 8:00AM, but the 2025 race will start one hour earlier at 7:00AM!
Similarly, the 15K race started at 8:45AM but has been moved to 9:00AM.
The Kids Race will not be held this year.

As a result, the registration times for each race have also been moved up. Please check the schedule for details.

40K checkpoint time limit relaxation

The time limits for the checkpoints remain the same as last year, with the 60K and 40K sharing the same time limits. However, the start time for the 40K has been moved up by one hour, effectively extending the time limit by one hour.

Last year, many runners were disappointed because they missed the cutoff times at the checkpoints. With this year’s cutoff times, you might just make it!

New categories: 40K pair and 60K pair relay added

Share the load and run 40K together with a 40K pair

Relay 60K with 35K + 25K with a 60K pair relay

These two categories have been newly added. For details, please see the Course Information page.

Brand new bus tour!

Last year, we considered organizing a bus tour, but it was canceled due to a lack of participants.

For the 2025 event, we will offer an “Asahikawa venue round-trip bus + nearby accommodation package tour“. The cost will be about 18,000 yen, which is almost a cost-only arrangement with minimal profit.

Staying just 300 meters from the venue is a huge advantage, especially for participants in the 60K race who need to leave early in the morning. Even participants in the 40K or 15K races can wake up early to experience the morning scenery at Shirataki Tengu-daira, and being able to relax close to the venue until just before the race is a great benefit. In addition, not having to drive back with a sore body after the race is another significant benefit.

This year, there is 20 participants required for the event to take place, so if there are not enough registrations, the event will be canceled. However, I believe the benefits to participants are significant, so we hope many of you will consider joining this tour.

Tour Registration will open shortly, but we plan to give priority to early registrations from those who have subscribed to our tour information email. If you are actively considering joining the tour, please sign up for the information email via the Venue Access Page.

For those interested in viewing the accommodations, please visit the official Facebook page.
