DTJ2025 Asahikawa Round-Trip Bus Tour Registration Now Open!
We are now accepting applications for the bus tour that will run between Asahikawa Station and the venue starting May 7. If you cannot see the flyer, click this link.
Some of you may be thinking, “I just wanted round-trip transportation.” However, if you are participating in the 60K race, the bus will leave around midnight. With the recent surge in accommodation costs, it would be a shame to stay in Asahikawa just to leave in the middle of the night. Additionally, this departure time is too early for 40K participants. The bus won’t wait for the 40K or 15K starts, so waiting outside for over four hours is not realistic.
Therefore, this year, we are offering a tour that includes lodging at a nearby simple facility plus meals for a total cost of 18,150 yen (tax included).
The tour departs from Asahikawa Station around 3 p.m. the day before, arriving at the venue accommodations in the evening. You will stay overnight, and the 60K, 40K, and 15K races will start the next morning in sequence.
Return buses will depart around 6 p.m. (the 40K/60K finish time limit) and arrive at Asahikawa Station around 8 p.m.
The accommodation is only 300 meters from the venue, making it easily accessible.
Even if you don’t need a place to stay for the tour, this significant advantage should not be overlooked.
Although this has not yet been officially decided, we are planning to allow tour participants to check in for the race the day before at the accommodations. This would allow participants to relax until just before the start, which we believe is a significant advantage.
Some may find the price of 18,150 yen high, but this amount is based on covering actual expenses.
We will do our best to ensure that you feel you have received your money’s worth, so we sincerely hope you will consider joining our tour.
Please note that the tour has a capacity of 35 participants, and a minimum of 20 participants is required for the tour to proceed. We will notify applicants of the tour’s status between June 15 and June 20.
A recommended optional activity for the 15K participants
The bus only operates one round trip.
Therefore, for the 15K participants, there will likely be a wait time of more than six hours between reaching the finish line and the departure of the return bus.
We recommend taking a break after finishing the race and then climbing Tengu-dake (or Ariake-yama, depending on the conditions).
The back of the venue is a ski resort. The 60K participants climb this route to enter the mountain range, crossing the peaks of Tengudake and Ariakeyama. You will be able to experience this route, which is also the official hiking route to Tengudake.
Some participants may feel that the 15K course, which is only a light trail, is lacking. However, this optional course offers a satisfying challenge for those who want a more difficult hike. Since it is not a race, you can enjoy a leisurely trek at your own pace.
Tengu-dake is not a flower-filled meadow like Hirayama Ridge, but the 360-degree views are breathtaking. The rugged, steep peaks are also a major attraction. If you have extra time, continuing on to Ariake-yama would also be enjoyable.
