The start times for the 15km and 40km courses have changed

For this year’s 2025 event, the start times for the 40km and 15km races have been changed from the original schedule (the 2024s) posted on the website.

20242025
racer check-instartracer check-instart
40km race6:45 – 7:458:005:30 – 6:307:00
15km race7:30 – 8:308:457:30 – 8:309:00

The start time for the 40km race will be moved up 1 hour to 7:00am and the check-in time will be moved to 5:30-6:30am.
The start time for the 15km race will be 15 minutes later, at 9:00am, and the check-in time will remain the same.
The schedule for the 60K will be the same as last year and will remain unchanged.

The reason why

In particular, the 40km course will undergo relatively major changes.
There are two main reasons for these changes.

  1. In the 2024 event, there were many DNFs due to the time limit at the 40km checkpoint, and the completion rate was lower than on the 60km course.
  2. In the 2024 event, the time at which runners finished was later than expected, so the venue lacked a sense of excitement.

Therefore, this year we have decided to move the start of the 40km race forward by one hour (although this will be a bit of a burden for the 40km runners).
The cut-off time at the checkpoints will remain the same, so for the 40K runners, the cut-off time will effectively be relaxed by one hour. The completion rate will probably be higher than for the 60km course.
Also, because this change will result in the 40K finish times being moved up by one hour, we hope to see the venue buzzing with activity from an earlier time. With that in mind, we are also thinking about expanding the events, food and beverage, and merchandise booths at the venue this year. We are also planning to hold a raffle, so we will be making preparations so that you can have fun even after the race is over.

We look forward to seeing you!
